Taking a Staycation on Maui... After many years as a marketing project manager, I have found that if I use the beginning, middle, and end road map, I can really help me manage any task, whether it be for work, home, or on a break. Approaching any task this way will increase the likelihood of success.
What do you need to bring?
- Clothes, a fan, a schedule, jewelry, a watch, the dog’s food, leash, toys and, doggie baggies
- For relaxing: pillows, music, Wi-Fi speaker, battery, cords and evening cocktails
- For work: my computer, keyboard, my cords, attachment plugs, WI-FI jet pack, my 3-way charger and an extra battery
- For communication: our phones, chargers and electric outlet strip
- For nourishment: Food, snacks, cheese, salami, grapes, salsa, crackers, Coffee pods and Splenda and nuts.
- For energy: my weights, exercise pad, my iPad, workout calendar, shoes, and coffee maker
- Food: Create a meal plan for each day. Shop for one week then the next.
- Personal items: Shower caddy, shampoo, toothbrush, floss, powder, lotion and curling iron
Bring one backpack and one bag for clothing and laundry detergent
After I laid out the plan, I put it on the calendar. Add meals to it and special outings as well. It will be my guide to maximize our time away.
Events will break through; meals may shift so I’ll be ready to adapt but having a plan will make our time away perfectly imperfect.
Sometimes the picture seems large but when you put it on paper, it all makes sense.
Make a list, stay organized, and, have a ton of fun!
