Showing Up Is Only the Beginning
August 19, 2026AI can feel overwhelming.
There are new tools, new platforms, new features, and new advice appearing almost every day. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Canva AI, AI agents, automation, and more. It is easy to start thinking you need to learn everything before you can actually use AI. You don't.
A much simpler approach is to start the same way you should approach marketing:
Start with the problem. What are you trying to accomplish?
Before choosing an AI tool, ask yourself:
What is taking too much time?
What am I struggling to figure out?
What do I need to create?
What do I keep putting off?
What would make my business easier to manage?
Those questions are often more useful than asking, "Which AI tool should I use?"
Don't start by learning everything about AI. You don't need to become an AI expert. You need to become comfortable using AI for the things that matter to your business. Think of AI as another tool in your marketing toolbox. Start with one task.
Maybe your problem is "I don't know what to post on social media."
Start there.
AI can help you turn your knowledge, services, customer questions, and upcoming events into social media ideas.
Maybe your problem is, "I have a website, but I don't know if it is actually helping my business."
Start there.
AI can help you organize questions to investigate, review information you provide, and help identify areas you may want to improve.
Maybe your problem is "I have lots of ideas, but I can't organize them."
Start there.
AI can help you turn scattered thoughts into a plan, checklist, calendar or next steps.
The goal isn't to use AI because everyone is talking about AI. The goal is to use AI because you have a problem worth solving.
Ask AI to help you think, not just create
Your AI approach can be as simple as 3 steps:
- Identify the problem.
What is frustrating, confusing, repetitive, or taking too much time?
- Find the right AI help
Once you understand the problem, look at which AI tool or feature might help. You may already have access to what you need.
- Build it into your routine.
If it works, use it again.
Create a prompt you can reuse. Save a process. Create a checklist. Set up a system.
That is when AI starts becoming useful. Not because you learned another AI tool, but because you created a better way to get something done.
AI doesn't have to be complicated.
Need help? We can get you started on asking those questions or help you create the system needed to make your job easier.
